Rod lens is a type of spherical lens with thickness much larger than diameter. It is polished on both ends and ground on the circumference. The two end surfaces are spherical, or one is spherical and the other is plano.
Rod lens has a large clear aperture, high imaging quality, and good assembly coaxiality, which greatly improves the imaging quality of rigid endoscopes. Therefore, currently rod lens is used in all rigid endoscopic imaging systems.
Application:
- Endoscope
